President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja.

The governors were led by Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, who is the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.

Governors who attended the meeting held behind closed-doors  declined to speak to State House correspondents on why it was conveyed.

None of the Villa spokesmen has also issued a statement on the meeting.

Multiple sources have however told reporters that the gathering discussed the crisis between national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, and Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

The governors reportedly urged the President to intervene with a view to finding solutions to the face-off between Obaseki and Oshiohmole ahead of the 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo state.

One of the sources who pleaded anonymity, said most of the governors called for Oshiomhole’s ouster for the party to move forward.

The President is therefore expected to meet with the chairmen of the state chapters of the All Progressives Congress at 3pm Friday on the matter.
