Policemen from the FCT Police Command have begun enforcing  the shut down directive of the FCT Minister, Bello Mohammed.

The shutdown, according to the Minister, is to help curtail the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.

The policemen, who divided themselves into several units, were seen parading the streets of Garki, ensuring that non-essential service providers close down their shops and office.

According to the officer who led his unit to Jam-Nab Plaza, Sapele Street, Akintola Boulevard,  where the Abuja Head Office of The Politico is located, only Pharmacy Shops, hospitals, media houses,  and those selling foodstuff are allowed to operate within the stipulated time.

The Politico understands that there are over fifty reported cases of the virus in the country as at Thursday.
