Dutch Eredivisie side, Heracles Almelo’s Cyriel Dessers has yet again expressed his desire to play for the Nigerian Super Eagles.
Dessers is the leading Nigerian scorer in the European Leagues, with 11 goals in 15 appearances this season.
The 24-year-old told Sporza that he was contacted by Nigeria Football Association (NFF) assistant coach after contributing to three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) in their last weekend’s 4-0 win over ADO Den Haag.
The striker also said that even though he has never been to Nigeria and the political unrest, he is looking forward to one day playing for his Nation.
“There has already been a contact with the Nigerian association.
“After the match against ADO Den Haag, the assistant from Nigeria sent me a message saying that I was doing well.
“But that is not going to be easy either. There are 300 million Nigerians worldwide.
“I have never been to Nigeria, also because the political situation has not been so calm in recent years. The last year it is only slightly better.
“I would like to go there and it would be twice as nice to do that If only to play a practice game against Madagascar or Mauritius”, he said.
