The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N58.49billion for the construction of Bida-Saachi-Nupeko road and Nupeko-Pategi bridge across the River Niger.
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the weekly FEC meeting in Abuja, said the road and the bridge would link Nupeko in Niger state and Pategi in Kwara state.
He said construction of the road and bridge would “facilitate connectivity from South West to North Central and other parts of the north .”
“The contract was awarded in 2013, but was terminated for non-performance and revaluated. It didn’t have a bridge then; we have added a bridge now,” he said.
