LAUTECH Lecturers Threaten to Embark on Strike


The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology chapter has issued a ten-day ultimatum to the management of the institution to pay their three-month outstanding salaries or they would embark on strike. 

The union said it might resort to strike at the expiration of the ultimatum, if the university fails to pay.

The resolution of ASUU’s congress which was jointly signed by the Chairman, Dr Biodun Olaniran and Secretary, Dr Toyin Abegunrin, was made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The Union also threatened to withhold the Rain Semester results for the 2018/2019 academic session until the salaries are paid. 

According to the Union, LAUTECH academics deserved to be paid their earned salaries without begging.

The union maintained that the welfare of its members remained paramount in its demands and would do everything at its disposal to protect them.
