The running mate to Gov. Yahaya Bello, Chief Edward Onoja in the forthcoming November 16, 2019 governorship election, will be sworn in on Monday (tomorrow) as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
Onoja was the former Chief of Staff to governor Yahaya Bello before he was appointed as running mate to the governor for the forthcoming governorship election.
The Politico understands that the Kogi State of Assembly will screen him on Monday and after the screening, the House will then confirmed him as deputy governor of the state before proceeding to Lugard House to take an oath of office where the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah is expected to administer.
Mr Simon Achuba was on Friday impeached by members of the Kogi State House of Assembly in Lokoja, the state capital.
However, Achuba has insisted that he is the Deputy Governor of Kogi State.
