Police Parade 81 Suspected Kidnappers, Armed Robbers


Police have paraded 81 persons suspected to be kidnappers and armed robbers among others, following their arrest by IRT and STS operatives.

The sum of 10.1million ransom and several AK47 rifles were recovered from the suspects.

Among those paraded were suspected kidnappers who allegedly killed a police inspector, Yohanna Patrick, on 26 August, 2019 and abducted several persons along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

Also paraded were suspects arrested in connection with the killing of 4 operatives of IRS in August last year while three of the rifles belonging to the late officers were recovered.

A statement from the Head of IRT, DCP Abba Kyari noted that “The kidnappers who kidnapped a Sokoto business man Alh Tukur Subaru and collected huge amount of money” and “kidnappers who kidnapped a honorouble member in Sokoto State and many other kidnappers terrorizing Abuja-Kaduna-Kano express way, Niger and Taraba States were all arrested.”

Police Spokesperson, DCP Frank Mba, had on Monday paraded all the suspects during a media briefing in Abuja.

Kyari commended the Inspector General of Police, and the security operatives for the arrests made.
