A South African court has sentenced a South African police constable for the murder of a Nigerian, Mr Ebuka Okoli.
Austin Luciano Reynold was sentenced at Durban, Kwazulu Natal Province on Monday
According to the President of Nigerian Citizens in South Africa, NICASA, Mr Ben Okoli, the police officer was sentenced to 25 years for murder and two years each for two counts of armed robbery and another three years for robbery with aggravated circumstances.
The police constable was on Friday found guilty for killing Me Okoli in Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal.
Reynold was accused of killing the deceased by shooting him at close range and robbing him during an unauthorised raid on the community where he resides.
He was charged with one count of murder and three counts of robbery.
Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission on Saturday expressed satisfaction over the justice meted out to the police officer for killing the Nigerian.
