Mustapha Shehu

Mustapha Shehu is Director of Veritas Media, publisher of The Politico magazine. He attended Government College Keffi, one of the premier secondary schools in Northern Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Shipping Technology from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria. He is the first and only Nigerian to hold a Master of Liberal Arts Degree (Journalism) from Harvard University. Mr. Shehu was at various times teacher, industrial chemist, and civil servant in Nigeria. As a journalist, he worked at Thisday Newspaper in Nigeria, interned at the De Bois Institute at Harvard and at the Bay State Banner Newspaper in Boston, MA. He founded The Politico magazine in December 2010 as CEO and Editor-in-Chief. He is a member of the International Press Institute (IPI) and the Northern Patriots (NP), a think tank in Nigeria. He also served as Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) Volunteer (American Peace Corps equivalence) in The Gambia. He lives with his family in Abuja, Nigeria.
