The Federal Government has said the transitioning and exit of the Batch A and B beneficiaries of the Social Investment Programme, N-power, has commenced today and will terminate on July 31.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, stated this in a message she signed on Tuesday.

Ms Farouq, in the message to the N-Power beneficiaries, explained that the two batches of the scheme need to pave way for the incoming Batch C beneficiaries to develop their entrepreneur skills to build the economy post-COVID-19.

She explained that the exit of the current batches is not a punitive action but a proactive step to help upskill “your brothers and sisters and assist them further along on their journey through life.”

She reiterated that over one million young Nigerians registered within 48 hours to benefit from the scheme.

The minister stressed that no fewer than 109,823 members of Batch A and B of N-Power have set up businesses in their communities, “underlying and highlighting the impact and imperative if the N-Power programme.”

Ms Farouq ,however, thanked the outgoing beneficiaries for their service, saying they have been worthy ambassadors of the programme.
