Towards creating more awareness of its services, Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/Aids, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA) has appointed wife of the state governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad as the new chairperson, Advocacy and Society Mobilisation Committee of the agency.
Speaking at a brief ceremony, the chairman of BACATMA, Dr Sambo Alkali, who led the management of the agency for the visit, said that they were in her office to congratulate and present her with appointment letter as the new chairperson of the committee as a tradition of the agency.
He said that her responsibilities include mobilising people on the importance of Premarital Counselling, HIV/AIDs and other diseases tests like Malaria as well as sanitation-related issues.
In her remarks shortly after receiving the appointment letter, the Bauchi State First Lady expressed happiness for finding her worthy of the appointment.
She assured of her readiness to put in her best in discharging her responsibilities as the chairman of the agency’s advocacy committee in order to achieve the desired goals of fighting Malaria, Tuberculosis and other diseases in the state.
She assured that she will always be ready to do anything that will bring development to the state.
