Buhari Meets Akeredolu, Makinde in Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met with Governors of Ondo and Oyo States, Rotimi Akeredolu and Seyi Makinde respectively.

The meeting might not be unconnected with the security situation in the states which has recently generated controversy in the country.

Akeredolu had recently ordered herdsmen occupying the state forest reserves illegally to vacate following the growing insecurity in the state.

Ibarapa area of Oyo State has also been engulfed in palbable tension following the activities of Fulani herdsmen.

A self-styled freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho, had recently stormed Igangan town and issued a seven-day ultimatum to Fulani community to quit Ibarapa area of the State.

Fulani herdsmen have been accused of kidnapping for ransom, killing, raping women and destroying farms in the South West.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II had on Tuesday night met with President Buhari at his official residence in Aso Rock to brief him on the ethnic tension in the South West.
