Court Orders DSS to Produce Detained Igboho’s Aides

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services to provide the 12 detained aides of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu in his ruling on Friday granted the application of the detainees.

The judge in the ex parte application before the court ordered that the DSS should produce the detained aides of the activist in court on the next adjourned date.

Justice Egwuatu also ordered the DSS to show cause why the applicants should not be admitted to bail.

The matter was adjourned to July 29 to take place during the court vacation.

The secret police had raided the activist’s residence on July 1, killing two people while the 12 aides were also arrested.

The activist’s aides have been in the custody of the DSS since they were paraded by its spokesperson, Peter Afunnaya.
