National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Sen Bola Tinubu, has called on the people of Edo State to reject the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, at the gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday.

The former Lagos State Governor made the call in a sponsored broadcast aired on TVC on Tuesday.

Tinubu who called on the people of the state not to vote for Obaseki, said the governor does not deserve any vote during Saturday election.

“He (Obaseki) does not deserve any democratic ballot paper. Don’t vote for him, I appeal to all of you,” he said.

Tinubu said Obaseki did not participate in the struggle for the return of democracy in Nigeria, hence the governor’s inability to appreciate democratic institutions.

“I want to appeal to you to reject Godwin Obaseki in this coming election. I have suffered with many others to bring about this democratic regime, that today, we are enjoying in the country. Then, Godwin Obaseki didn’t participate in any aspect of the struggle to enshrine democracy in the country.

“Therefore, he could not understand the value and the pains associated with this democratic struggle,” he said.

The APC chieftain accused Obaseki of demonstrating act of dictatorship and disregard for rule of law by refusing to inaugurate 14 out of the 24 members of the state House of Assembly.

“Today, he now comes back as a democrat wanting you to vote for him. Please, I appeal to you, reject him,” Tinubu said.
