Kaduna State government has announced the ban of every form of fees in all its public primary and secondary schools as a measure to make basic education accessible to the children in the state.
The directive was issued in a letter sent to the Zonal Director, Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Phoebe Sukai Yaiyi, on Friday.
The letter, signed on behalf of the Commissioner for Education in the state, said all principals in schools have been ordered to stop all forms of fees collection with immediate effect.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El Rufai, had pronounced that his administration would ensure access to basic and post basic quality education for all pupils and students of age in the state irrespective of gender.
