Ex-Ondo Council Boss Regains Freedom after Payment of Ransom


A former chairman of Akure North Local Government in Ondo State Mr Dele Fagoriola who was abducted last weekend has regained his freedom.

Confirming his release to newsmen, the elder brother of the victim, Mr Busuyi Fagoriola said the family paid a ransom of two million naira (N2m) before he was released on Monday night.

Mr Busuyi noted that the former council boss was released in the same place where he was kidnapped.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph,alsoconfirmed the release of Mr Fagoriola but declined comment on the ransom paid.

Mr Dele Fagoriola was abducted by seven unknown gunmen on Saturday afternoon at his Iju farm located on Akure-Ikere Ekiti Road.
