His Excellency Yobe state Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, today specially appreciated Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, former Deputy Managing Director and current Non-Executive Director, Total Energies for constructing and furnishing a diagnostic, Maternal and Child Health center at the Yobe University Teaching Hospital and the Damaturu Specialist Hospital, as well as toilets at the state Polytechnic, Geidam.
According to a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Yobe State Government House, Governor Buni said the support by Musa Kida would complement government efforts in meeting the needs of the people.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Yobe state, l sincerely appreciate your kind support in the health and education sectors.
“I wish to call on other well-spirited individuals to emulate this great philanthropist, Ahmadu Musa Kida, to complement our efforts in providing infrastructure to the people because, government alone cannot do it especially with the huge destruction the state has suffered from insurgency attacks,” Governor Buni said.
In response, Musa Kida, who is also the President, Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) said he was moved to support the state government knowing the limitation of resources at government’s disposal.
“As a friend and brother, l acknowledge the commitment of His Excellency to move the state forward, he needs more support to achieve his goal,” Musa Kida said.
He commended the government and people of Yobe state for recognizing and appreciating his contributions to the state.
