The Muslim League for Accountability (MULAC), a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), has commended the Federal Government for establishing a military base in Kafanchan to address the crisis in southern Kaduna.
Malam Yusuf Arigassiyu, MULAC Executive Director, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Arigassiyu said the presence of the military would dissuade trouble makers who had been exploiting the security gaps in the area to foment trouble.
He, however, called for genuine reconciliation to totally end the recurring crisis.
He said the presence of the military alone was not the final solution to the crisis, adding that conscious efforts should be made to promote genuine reconciliation and forgiveness among the parties involved.
“So, there must be genuine reconciliation and forgiveness to achieve a lasting peace,’’ he said.
