Lagos shuts down hotels, Nite clubs.

For defaulting in the payment of their annual permit and contravening statutory registration, The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has closed six hospitality outfits situated in Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Airport road and Ogba axes of the state.This was made available to newsmen in Lagos by Ms Barbara Wey, Head of Hotel Licensing Directorate of the ministry. According to her, this offence contravened sections 4 and 9 of hotel licensing directorate of Lagos State Government.

She said “some of them refused to register their hospitality outfits and event centres after several notifications and contravention notices served by the state government since 2012.”She further disclosed that the ministry is determined to make all hospitality establishments do the needful in terms of proper registration, permit and payments of dues.“All defaulting tourism and hospitality operators are enjoined to comply with the registration process and pay all accrued dues to the state government,’’ she stated.
