Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases exceeded 160,000 on Friday as 399 new confirmed infections were recorded.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this via its official Twitter handle on Friday.
According to the NCDC, the total number of confirmed cases of the disease has risen to 160,332.
The statistics released by the centre shows that the fresh cases were recorded in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory as Lagos leads the chart with 101 cases.
Others are; Anambra-96, Edo-50, Abia-29, Imo-28, Ogun-19, Akwa Ibom-16, Kaduna-13, FCT-7, Bayelsa-6, Kano-6, Oyo-6, Delta-5, Rivers-5, Nasarawa-4, Ebonyi-3, Osun-3 and Gombe-2.
The total number of fatalities which exceeded 2,000 on Thursday also increased to 2009 as eight new deaths were recorded.
Also, persons who have been discharged are now 144,059 while the number of active cases has reduced to 14,264.
