Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has disclosed that there are plans to reopen schools nationwide.
The Ministry of Education had on March 19, as part of measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, announced the closure of all tertiary, secondary and primary schools nationwide in the country.
Speaking on the plans to reopen schools nationwide, Nwajiuba disclosed that he had an inter-ministerial discussion with Ogbonnaya Onu Minister of Science & Technology, and Mohammed Abdullahi Minister of State, Science & Technology.
“We are setting up protocols to enable us reopen schools without endangering the lives of our children, the future of this nation”
“It is our belief that in no distant time, these children will return to their classrooms and back to learning” he stated.
