Weah Celebrates Birthday, Nigeria’s Independence Day


Liberian President, George Weah, has felicitated with Nigeria on the occasion of her 59th Independence Anniversary.

Mr Weah, who also celebrates his birthday on the same day, wished Nigerian government and it’s people happy Independence. 

“I share this day with all Nigerians as they celebrate their Country’s independence. I would like to wish the Government and people of Nigeria a Happy Independence; as they commemorate 59 unbroken years of God’s protection & blessings upon their great country. May the spirit of true African solidarity continue to inspire us all.”

Weah in a message on Tuesday expressed his appreciation to his family and his countrymen for their prayers and support.

“I am indeed grateful to God for allowing me to see another birthday and for all of his bountiful blessings towards me through out the years. Special thanks to my wife, family, friends, fans and everyone else for their prayers and support over the years. Your love and best wishes have truly been an inspiration, thus I am thankful to God for allowing you all to be a part of my life,” he said. 

The former World Footballer of the Year who clocked 53 on Tuesday, was born on October 1st 1966.
