Yari Denies Leaving 251bn Debt in Zamfara


The immediate past governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, has said that he left no debt or liability for the new administration of Alhaji Bello Matawalle.

He said “l want to make it categorically clear that the immediate past governor, His Excellency, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar left no debt on the state when he handed over the leadership of the state to the government of Alhaji Bello Matawalle.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Yari, through his media aide, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, at a news conference organised at the All Progressives Congress state Secretariat in Gusau on Wednesday, refuted the claim in the report of the state Transition Committee.

The Chairman of Transition Committee in Zamfara, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, had on Monday disclosed that Yari left a debt profile of over 251bn for the new administration.
